Went over to HAATO & CO at ClarkQuay the other day and I love the waffle!!

Verdict: give it a try!

Yay or nay?

Banana Waffle Chocolate

$8.50

This waffle looks yummy-licious~

At $8.50, you get a choice of your ice-cream served on a freshly toasted waffle with tons of bananas and chocolate chips. But when it was served, the ice-cream has already started melting and we had no choice but to dig in immediately (although I managed to take some photos before that). Thank you SY for being patient with me! ❤

The first thing that came to my mind was:  This whole waffle is too overcrowded

As you can see, it’s entirely filled with bananas and chocolate chips. It has unfortunately spoilt the image of the waffle, giving it an unappealing look. Although generosity is a good thing, the waffle seems a little overcrowded. On a side note, my boyfriend doesn’t like banana so I had to finish all the bananas!! But luckily I like bananas LOL!!

I can’t remember what flavour was the ice-cream, but you know it has something to do with chocolate. Fret not, the ice-cream is not very important either cause it taste just like normal ice-cream. The amazing part was the waffle. It was perfect.

The tenderness of the waffle really made me go wow-ed after my very first mouth. I ate it alone without the ice-cream and I can really say the waffle is much better than those at Gelare and Udders. (Just had udders ice-cream waffle today, will blog about it soon!) The taste of it was appropriate as well, and it tastes superb when served freshly toasted. So, eat it quick!

Here’s a very awkward post of me.

The plenty varieties they have. And because there are very little people, you get to try the ice-cream at your own sweet time.

By saying there are very little people, no I don’t mean there aren’t customers because the ice-cream don’t taste good. I guess it’s because it’s outdoors, not many people would like to enjoy their ice-cream under the hot sun/outdoors. But to combat this, they have cooling fans around the seats, so it doesn’t matter to me! In fact, the surrounding temperature wasn’t very hot either.

Ambience and experience

This is my second time here and as usual, the cafe is pretty empty and the most having 2-3 pairs/groups of customers. I came in the afternoon for both times though, so I can’t really say for the night. I love the quietness at this cafe. Situated along the Singapore River at Clark Quay, you can easily enjoy your ice-cream and have a look at the scenery. They have cooling fans beside to cool you down on a hot sunny day too.

Price

For ice creams, they are priced almost the same at other ice-cream parlors. But for the waffle, and for the quality it brings, I thought the price was justifiable! I don’t mind coming back again for the waffle. Besides, for the price you pay, you get a chance to have a chat with your friend for the longest time you want because… there are plenty of seats that are unoccupied! J

And this is me before I trim my hair. All the bruises I get from skating. Meh.

To sum up, you may want to try out this place if you want a place to chill out with your friends and have a longggg chat with them. It’s generally relaxing and quiet here. Here’s their website.
