Finally the season of ang bao receiving and family gatherings is here! We’re barely two months away from the Chinese New Year and I really can’t contain my excitement for that. Chinese New Year is the only time where my family, included my extended family come together for a gathering. Not to forget all the Chinese new year goodies, food and red packets! All these aside, CNY is a great opportunity for me to dress up, and as a vainpot, there’s no way am I going to miss out some Chinese New Year shopping on ZALORA CNY collection.
I browsed through the collection and found myself a few favourite pieces from ZALORA’s CNY collection.
Check out this blue cheonsam-inspired dress that reveals modernity. The lace linings at the bottom of the dress certainly makes a cheongsam less dull and more modern than it usually portrays.
Similar to the blue dress, this Lace Side Love Dress certainly isn’t new. The pattern of the lace linings is meant to give an illusion of a slender and slim hourglass figure. The ruffled ends definitely brings out feminity in a creative way, unlike a boring flat shaped end.
Finally my favourite piece from the collection? Definitely this vibrantly coloured sleeveless cheongsam which is just for me. I love vibrant colours and I’m sure if I wear this for visiting, I’m so going to attract all the attention! Hahaha. For the mood of Chinese New Year, it’s best to wear vibrant colours. I’m not sure about you, but my family is pretty traditional and they dislike anyone wearing dull or even worse, black outfits. It’s just disrespectful and mood-dampening isn’t it?
