NeoStrata Company was founded by Drs. Eugene Van Scott and Ruey Yu, who also founded Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), so I knew I’ll be in good hands when I set out to try out their products. Today I’ll be touching on the Spot Treatment Gel and Dry Skin Cream, of which both are under their “Targeted” category.
I’ve been having quite bad a break out and I have many red angry pimples popping out on my forehead. So I decided to give the Spot Treatment Gel a try. It’s a yellowish gel that smells a little medicated. However, it does help to control my angry pimples and dry it up.

As you can see from the photo above, the pimple has dried up by year 3. One of the downside is that the gel is a little sticky and it may affect my makeup, so I suggest using it at night too.
The Spot Treatment Gel contains 2% Salicylic Acid, Triple Alpha Hydroxy Acid blend of Acetyl Mandelic Acid, Citric Acid Tartaric Acid and Pro-Vitamin A. It helps to heal blemishes and allow the skin to heal. However, please note that it’s not recommended for pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Direction: Cleanse skin thoroughly before applying gel. Can use fingertip or swab to cover the blemish with a thin layer 1-3 times a day.
For my dry skin problem, especially around my heels and elbows, I tried out the Dry Skin Cream. Yes, the Dry Skin Cream is extremely moisturizing, but in my opinion a little too moisturizing. It’s really greasy and thick, and it may be a little uncomfortable when you feel sticky all over the body. However, good thing is it’s really moisturizing and one application is good enough to smoothen out any dry or flaky patches.
This rich cream contains a high level of Hydroxy Acids to exfoliate dry and thickened skin around the areas as I’ve mentioned (elbows, heels etc). It contains highly emollient vehicle of beewax ans skin conditioning oil, which explains the greasy texture. However, it serves to instantly reduce skin roughness on contact. If you have really dry skin, I honestly recommend this.
