My kind of mask – GENEVIA Dendrobium Candidum Deep Hydrating Mask – Celine Chiam | Singapore Lifestyle, Beauty and Travel Blogger
Finding out the type of masks that suits you can be troublesome, some just didn’t bother to pay attention to it. If you haven’t notice, there are actually many types of masks in the beauty market. Sheet mask alone comes in many variation of texture, like Microfiber, Foil, Cotton, Hydrogel and Bio-Cellulose. Have you tried most of the different types? Which is your favourite?
I personally am not picky between Microfiber, Foil, Hydrogel or Bio-Cellulose. I only hate those thick cotton/ paper sheet mask that just can’t adhere to your skin, for goodness’ sake *roll my eyes*. You instantly feel how cheap those mask sheets are, but then again, you get what you paid for right? There are many reasons behind the type of mask texture being used. One good example is Bio-Cellulose mask. They’re more durable and they don’t tear that easily. They also have the ability to both absorb nutrients in each mask so that your skin gets enough nutrients each application. Bio-Cellulose masks can be a little pricier, but like I’ve said before, you get what you pay for! 一分钱一分货.
Just a few weeks ago, I got sent over the GENEVIA Dendrobium Candidum Deep Hydrating Mask. It is not the first Bio-Cellulose mask that I’ve tried, so I was not exactly very fascinated about it.
What came as a surprise was the solution that the mask was soaked in. The moment I took the sheet mask out, it was dripping wet. I had to hold the mask one our hand, and the other hand cuping underneath to make sure the solution doesn’t drip onto the ground. The next surprise was how clear the solution was, almost akin to water. It doesn’t feel sticky and it is odourless. Which makes me wonder, what exactly is so special about this mask right?
“Dendrobium” and “Candidum” are both a type of flower. Apart from this two key plant extract, the mask also comes with 6 other beneficial ingredients like Aloe, Chamomile, Witch Hazel, Hyaluronic Acid, EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3 & Acetyl Hexapeptide-3. All these ingredients are to provide more moisture to the skin for deep hydration treatment. Side track – EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) stimulates cell growth, thus speeding up your repair and cell renewal process. It also contains antioxidant properties for better and faster cell turnover, increasing collagen production. That said, hello to more supple and youthful skin! People with sensitive skin will love this mask because the Bio-Cellulose mask is made from the fermentation plant raw materials, making it a skin-friendly mask type. And because of the nature of Bio-Cellulose, the essences can penetrate into the skin since they don’t evaporate that easily.
Yon can easily tell that the GENEVIA Dendrobium Candidum Deep Hydrating Mask adheres so much better than any other mask. In fact, it does not drop off at all, making it convenient for you to continue with your daily task even with the mask on.
However, there was also one thing that I noticed – the Bio-Cellulose mask actually dries up really quickly after I apply onto my skin. That happens precisely because of the Bio-Cellulose mask fiber mask material, which allows my skin to fully absorb the essence from the mask, thus “drying” up what’s left on the mask. Watch this video and you’ll understand!
Each time, the skin feels instantly hydrated after just one masking session.
When retrieved out of the pack, the Dendrobium Candidum Deep Hydrating Mask is covered with the mesh on both sides.
