Kith Cafe Review – Celine Chiam | Singapore Lifestyle, Beauty and Travel Blogger
Dropped by Kith Cafe today with my lovely boyfriend! ❤
We both ordered the same dish to there’s only one photo of it. Our order was the lunch special:
Pan Fried Chicken Thigh, tomato, mozzarella with
Spaghetti Aglio Olio with
Mixed Green
$19
Verdict: Not that great.
Photo taken with my new love! (Tamron 17-50mm F2.8) ❤❤❤
Nice or not?! 😀
The not-so-marvellous chicken thigh coated with mozzarella
How should I say?
Experience
The whole experience wasn’t as good as I expected. The indoor cafe was crowded and almost fully filled in the noon. I was actually expecting an opportunity to chill at a cafe and have a chat with my boyfriend, but the cafe was too crowded and noisy. So indoors is a bad choice.
SY and I were lucky to get ourselves the last four-seater table and we settled down to our order very quickly. What came unpleasant was the fact that the waiter requested us to move in so that two ladies (with a baby pram) can come in and share the table with us.
I really dislike the idea to share tables with others. I just don’t like the idea to have my meal with someone sitting so close next to me. I don’t feel comfortable at all. So this really affected my mood to enjoy my experience at Kith Cafe.
If you really want, you might want to choose to go in the morning to get their brunch, or sit outdoors as its not as occupied. The weather wasn’t very hot either on that day.
Food quality
For a price of $19, (~$22 after all the GST and service charge), I wouldn’t say this meal was very worth it, but neither would I say it’s trash. There was nothing special about the dish. The spaghetti was slightly tough, and the mozzarella did not complement the chicken thigh (so i don’t know what’s it for). Perhaps I should come again next time and try out their lunch ala carte.
Indoors.
As you can see, the seats are very limited.
Oh by the way, did I mention they do not take reservation?
No offense, but here’s a straw, so suck it up and go early to avoid the crowd.
Their menu was old and just sheets of papers. First page was hand-written, so I suppose they change it everyday. The subsequent menu are torn and tattered. Not sure they did it on purpose or … it was meant to be an unique design?
The cafe is definitely easy to find. Park mall is just located opposite Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, and Kith Cafe is just along the outside of the mall.
So to conclude, I hope I can drop by Kith Cafe again for their brunch to do them some justice. Hopefully the cafe will not be so crowded again and the ambience would be a tad better!
