When it comes to flabby arms, I am 101% sure that I am not alone. Even if a girl is extremely slim, she too will suffer from unsightly flabby arms because fats get deposited there after a while. Active people like me get more of that because if we stop working out, the muscles turn into fats, and there you have your persistent flabby arms. 

I know there are many ways to reduce flabby arms but they often require diligence, perseverance and discipline to do consistent arm exercise to reduce the flabby arm. But let me ask you this question, do you have the time and discipline to do it? If you don’t, it’s ok because I don’t too! Which is why when I heard of fat freezing methods, one of the fastest and easiest ways to reduce fats on your flabby arms, I knew I had to try it. 

Today, I’m gonna go through in details the procedure, downtime, side effects (if any) and many FAQs you have in mind about fat freezing 🙂

Where did you go?

First and foremost, the clinic that I visited was LUSH Aesthetics. Is it painful?
Different areas will feel differently. Since our lower arms have one of the thinnest skin, it will hurt a little. I read other peoples’ reviews that their tummy and thigh area does not hurt. 

Is there any risk involved?  “The procedure has been performed hundreds of thousands of times, with an extremely high level of safety compared to other fat reduction methods. Common Side Effects: Temporary numbness, mild soreness, and mild bruising. Most people say they feel essentially nothing after the procedure, but these symptoms happen, are mild and don’t require medication or time off work or activities.” For me, there’s no side effect at all. Other than bruising for a few days, there’s no other side effects.

Fat freeze or liposuction? 

It depends whether you can accept plastic surgery? Liposuction is considered a surgery and has greater downtime, albeit it’s a more effective slimming choice. For me, I wouldn’t go through surgery. It’s a personal choice 🙂

For one who has not done any slimming or fat reducing procedures, I visited the clinic with both excitement and nervousness. I’ve read a bit of reviews online (probably that’s why you’re here reading my review too) and found out that there’s no side effects from this procedure, but probably some downtime that isn’t permanent. You’ll experience a little bit discomfort during the procedure and some bruising after it. In rare cases, blisters may form but again, it doesn’t happen to me and some other reviewers online. (Phew!)

The treatment began with with me changing to a towel-tube dress to make sure nothing interferes with the suction tube. Before the aesthetician places the suction tube on my inner arm, she put on a layer of cooling membrane to reduce the likelihood of blistering and damage of my skin through the suction. That instance when the suction began, I don’t deny that fact that it hurts a lot. Compared to tummy and inner thigh areas where fats are more concentrated and in greater amount, inner arms have lesser fats and thus are more sensitive. In case you don’t know, inner arms will experience much greater pain compared to any other part of your body if being pinched because of the thin layer of skin. So that can tell you the reasonable pain you’ll experience during fat freezing.

There is also some discomfort during the procedure simply because your skin (along with the fats) are being sucked into the tube and maintained there for quite some time. For inner arms, the process is 30 minutes long. For tummy and inner thigh areas, it’ll be 50 mins long for each side to break down the more stubborn fat cells. After a while, numbness will kick in, and it’s natural to to lose your senses along the lower arm till your pinky and ring fingers. Throughout the process, I was told to constantly move my fingers, so I kept on doing the clenching fists action to delay the numbness as long as possible.

I was also given a bell in case anything happen such that I require assistance. Situations like I totally couldn’t feel my fingers or if I felt very uncomfortable, I can ring the bell and the aestheticians will enter the room to see if I’m alright. Thankfully I didn’t come to the situation where I require assistance so I didn’t ring the bell at all. Other than that, the aestheticians will come in occasionally, like 3 times per session (per side) within the half hour. In case you got confused, fat freezing procedure takes half hour for each side, which results in a total of 1 hr for a complete treatment.

To my surprise, the numbness disappeared pretty fast, like within half an hour after the suction. However the discomfort from the bruising remained there for a few days and my inner arms do feel really delicate and untouchable. Bruising was quite obvious and large so I had to wear sleeve tops/dresses for 3 days at least before the bruising subside and fade off. Fat freezing procedure wasn’t VERY painful or bad, it’s very bearable.

Now 2 weeks have passed, and let’s compare the before and after.

As you can see from the photos, the results are evident. My flabby arms have reduced quite a bit (especially that of my right arm, which is my master hand) and this is not the end of the result. The arm will continue to reduce for another 1-2 weeks and I can’t wait to see the result. Guess this is really one of the best and easiest ways to reduce stubborn fats on my flabby arms. 

Bruising does look scary but it doesn’t really hurt after 2-3 days. Anyway, what’s this kind of pain compared to consistent muscle pain from every day workout? I can continue my daily chores and work almost immediately, I can even carry my 3+ kg handbag immediately after the treatment. 

So how does fat freezing work?
