Few weeks back I received the Asus ZenFone Selfie and was pretty stoked to be trying it out and sharing it with my followers. If you are already following me on instagram, you would have noticed that I had used the hashtag #zenfoneselfie and #asussg quite a few times because the photos did indeed come out from this Asus ZenFone Selfie fresh! Other than being known as a selfie phone, let's explore more into this phone shall we?
I am absolutely not a geeky tech guy who's all passionate about all these tech gadgets. Nonetheless, I hope I can show you some genuine photos using this phone, and telling you how it feels using the Asus ZenFone Selfie as a normal user just like you.
The most ingenious part about this phone is this function call the S-swipe. It takes just a simple S-shaped swipe on the high-density 1920 x 1080-pixel, Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4 display to boot up the 13MP PixelMaster front camera instantly for a shot. In other words, when your phone is locked and you want to quickly snap a selfie, you just have to write an S on your phone and the camera function appears instantly! How hassle-free.
You can also choose to take beautified modes, so you can safely ditch your beautification apps like MeiTuXiuXiu!! Hahaha. You even get to decide the intensity of blushers, how large you want your eye pupils to go, and how smooth you want your skin to be.
The selfie camera function comes equipped with 13MP PixelMaster cameras and dual-LED Real Tone flash front and rear, ultra-fast laser focus and ZenMotion S-swipe to shoot. Woo that's quite a mouthful, but let's see how the selfies fair. Here are some selfies I took using the beautification mode.
The Asus ZenFone Selfie is absolutely sleek and slender, with its matte finishing on the casing. I like how it feels on my hands, although I find it a little too large for girls' hands, unless you prefer a larger phone like this. The Asus ZenFone Selfie is about the same size as Apple Iphone 6S Plus.
For more detailed specifications, you can visit Asus website, which I think will be more accurate and all the technical specs you want can be found there.
Some of the features include:
- High-density screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for vibrant color, incredible detail and durability
- instant photo editing to make every selfie a stunner
- 64-bit power, an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which delivers the perfect balance of multimedia performance and battery efficiency
Asus ZenFone Selfie comes in three shades: Pure White, Baby Pink or Tiffany Blue.
They will be available from all ASUS authorized retailers and dealers at $399.
You'll be spoilt for choices since the intuitive ZenUI Camera app offers 16 customization modes to apply interesting effects and to manage manually all settings to ensure perfect compositions, including Manual, Super Resolution, HDR, Low Light, Night, Depth of Field, GIF Animation, Time Rewind and Smart Remove.

My overall review:
The Asus ZenFone Selfie definitely lives up to its name for being a great selfie phone. The S-swipe and inbuilt beauty modes are just the perfect characteristics for those who love to take selfie. Timer mode can also be easily set up just by one swipe up the screen, so I love the easy functions of this phone.
However, I did realise one thing about this phone - it works better with ample lightings. That is more specific to sun light, because photos are much better while taken under the sun light. To be fair, this is the same to all phones so I don't argue over that. But nonetheless, I did notice that photo quality drops a little indoors, as you can see in the photos following up.
All in all, for the price of only $399, I think this phone is pretty decently priced! The powerful camera functions and specifications packed in it is definitely worth a go.
The following photos are all non-edited, except they have gone through the beautified modes in the Asus ZenFone Selfie.
